About Fairmount Family Pet Loss Care

Fairmount Family Pet Loss Care is the pet memorial branch of Fairmount Cemetery and Funeral Home, one of Denver's oldest and most respected burial grounds with over 130 years of service to Colorado families. Launched in 2023 at the main Fairmount campus on South Quebec Street, the pet care program was created out of a belief that no family should have to go somewhere unfamiliar when their pet dies — the same institution that cares for people should be able to care for pets. Fairmount's president, Kendra Briggs, summed up the philosophy: "They're your family, too."

The program operates out of a dedicated animal cremation facility on Fairmount's historic 280-acre grounds. Every cremation is private and individual — never communal — consistent with the standards Fairmount applies to human services. Each cremation package includes a keepsake memorial box with fur clippings, a clay paw print, ink paw and nose prints, and forget-me-not flower seeds. A small chapel with capacity for up to sixty guests has been set aside specifically for pet memorial and viewing services, and the facility also offers personalized DVD tributes, memorial folders, guest registration books, and garden stones or headstones for home placement.

What to Expect

Fairmount Family Pet Loss Care can arrange transportation of your pet from your home to their South Quebec Street facility. Families have the option to schedule a memorial service and viewing in the dedicated pet chapel, or simply arrange cremation and pickup of remains. All cremations are performed privately, one pet at a time, and your pet's ashes are returned to you in an urn along with a keepsake memorial box.
