The business was founded by passionate animal lovers who experienced the heartbreak of losing their own family dog and found themselves without a trusted local option for respectful aftercare. Motivated by that experience, they set out to create a service for their hometown and surrounding communities — one built on integrity, compassion, and the belief that families should be able to keep their pets close no matter where life takes them. Forever Pets is certified through the Cremation Association of North America (CANA) and operates state-of-the-art cremation equipment that meets all EPA regulatory standards.

Forever Pets serves families throughout Afton and the wider Star Valley region of Wyoming. They offer animal pickup service for an additional fee of $1 per mile (minimum 40-mile trip), making their services accessible to families across a broad rural area. Memorial plaques are also available to place near a pet's favorite spot in the yard or at a burial site, giving families a lasting way to honor their companion at home.

What to Expect

Forever Pets performs only private cremations, meaning your pet is never cremated alongside another animal. Standard cremation turnaround is 5–7 business days, though families can request a 24-hour return for an additional $60 when they need cremains returned quickly. The business is available by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to arrange appointments, with standard office hours of Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm (a $40 off-hours fee applies for appointments outside regular hours). Cremains are processed to a fine ash and returned in your choice of urn, necklace, or scattering tube, allowing your pet to remain close wherever your life takes you.
