About Pets at Peace Vet Care

Pets at Peace Vet Care is an independently owned in-home pet euthanasia practice based in Providence, Rhode Island, with services extending throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Led by Dr. Linden, the practice was founded on the belief that a pet's final moments should be spent in the place where they feel most safe — at home, surrounded by family, free from the noise and anxiety of a veterinary clinic. The practice describes itself as providing "quiet comfort, gentle goodbyes," and client reviews consistently speak to the professionalism, kindness, and thoughtful attention Dr. Linden brings to each visit.

One hallmark of the Pets at Peace approach is the optional telemedicine consultation that can be scheduled before a euthanasia appointment. This call with Dr. Linden allows families to discuss their pet's disease progression, ask questions about the process, and clarify aftercare preferences — so that when the day arrives, the family can focus entirely on being present with their pet. Clients have described receiving unexpected memorials such as nose and paw prints, personalized notes, and follow-up care that made an impossibly hard moment a little more bearable.

Services Offered

Pets at Peace Vet Care provides the following services to families in the Providence, Rhode Island area and throughout RI and MA:

  • In-home euthanasia — peaceful, planned end-of-life care at your pet's home, lasting 30–60 minutes
  • Telemedicine consultation — optional pre-appointment video call with Dr. Linden to discuss care options and aftercare wishes
  • Individual aquamation — transportation to Nature's Pawprint Aquamation with return of only your pet's ashes
  • Communal aquamation — shared water cremation with remains returned to the earth; ashes are not returned
  • Home burial — practice provides a cloth burial bag; families arrange burial on their property per local regulations

What to Expect

Appointments are requested through Pets at Peace's online form, which is checked twice daily on weekdays and once on weekends. The practice is not equipped for emergency euthanasia, but same-day appointments may be possible when the schedule allows — families with urgent needs are encouraged to call directly. During the home visit, Dr. Linden first administers a sedative containing anti-pain and anti-anxiety medication, which takes effect over 5 to 15 minutes. Once the pet is calm and comfortable, a gentle intravenous injection follows, gradually slowing breathing and heart rate until the pet passes peacefully — a process that can take up to five minutes and is described by families as entirely calm and dignified.
