About PALS Pet Loss Services

PALS Pet Loss Cremation Services is the only dedicated pet crematory in Sedalia, Missouri. Founded in the fall of 2010 by Sue Heckart — a lifelong dog lover who saw a need for local pet aftercare in Mid-Missouri — PALS is now owned and operated by Jeff and Megan Page. Jeff Page is a licensed funeral director and Certified Pet Loss Professional who also owns Heckart Funeral Home and Harmony Crematory (a human crematory) in Sedalia, bringing funeral industry standards and oversight to pet aftercare.

PALS is a proud member of the Pet Loss Professionals Alliance (PLPA), a committee of the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association (ICCFA). PLPA membership means PALS commits to caring for pet remains with dignity and professional skill, honoring family wishes with confidentiality, and complying with all applicable laws and regulations. The facility's state-of-the-art equipment and trained staff are available to families 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Services Offered

PALS provides the following services to pet families in Sedalia and the Mid-Missouri area:

• Private (individual) cremation — Your pet is cremated individually; ashes are returned to you in an urn of your choice
• Communal cremation — Pets are cremated with others; ashes are respectfully spread in a quiet country setting
• Cremation for all animals up to 250 lbs — PALS accepts cats, dogs, birds, rabbits, hamsters, ferrets, goats, and other animals within the weight limit
• Memorial products and keepsakes — A variety of handcrafted urns, memorial gifts, and keepsakes to honor your pet
• Home pickup — Available for an additional fee based on distance
• Urn shipping — PALS can ship completed urns and memorial items by mail to families at a distance

What to Expect

PALS encourages families to tour the facility before a time of need, so they can understand the environment and feel confident in their choice. Regular business hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on weekdays and by appointment on weekends; in emergencies, PALS is available 24/7. If your pet passes at a veterinary clinic, PALS will typically go to the clinic to receive your pet into their care. If your pet passes at home, most families bring the pet to PALS's Sedalia location; home pickup can be arranged for an additional fee.
