Paws & Claws Aquamation and Memorials is a family-owned pet aftercare facility in Orange, California, founded in 2015 by Brian and Deanna Kondrath. Brian holds a degree in Mortuary Science and is licensed by the state of California as a crematory manager, embalmer, and funeral director — bringing more than 25 years of professional funeral industry experience to pet care. Deanna holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and has worked in the funeral industry for 10 years. Together, they approach pet aftercare as a funeral service rather than simply a veterinary extension, applying the same standards of dignity and professionalism.

Paws & Claws holds the distinction of being the first aquamation facility in all of Orange County, offering families in the region an eco-friendly, water-based alternative to traditional flame cremation. The team is known for taking the time to walk families through every step of the process, including showing the aquamation procedure, discussing urn and keepsake options, and answering all questions during what is a deeply difficult time. When you bring your pet to Paws & Claws, Brian and his team personally guide you through the process. They encourage families to call ahead so private time can be arranged during your visit. Brian will walk you through the aquamation process, present urn selections, and explain add-on memorial options such as paw prints and fur clippings. The team is known for being flexible with timing, including accommodating families who arrive after normal hours. Cremated remains are returned to families once the process is complete.
