Peace for Paws was founded by Dr. Sarena Olsen, DVM, MS, CPEV, with the belief that every pet deserves a peaceful, dignified farewell in the environment where they feel most loved. Dr. Olsen's educational background includes a Master of Animal Science from the University of Wyoming and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University, and she began her career as a veterinary technician in Illinois before founding the practice. She is among a small number of veterinarians in the Greater Las Vegas area to hold certification from the Companion Animal Euthanasia Training Academy as a Certified Peaceful Euthanasia Veterinarian (CPEV), reflecting advanced training in providing gentle, fear-free end-of-life care.

The practice serves Henderson, Las Vegas, Boulder City, and North Las Vegas, operating as an appointment-based service with scheduling typically available one to two days in advance and a minimum two-hour notice requirement. Same-day and last-minute appointments are sometimes possible. If you want to speak with Dr. Olsen directly before committing, personalized consultations are available for a fee. On the day of the appointment, Dr. Olsen arrives at your home alone — without a technician — to preserve your privacy and keep the atmosphere as calm as possible. She may ask for assistance moving larger pets, and for dogs over 25 pounds without available assistance, crematory support can be arranged at an additional cost. The entire process is guided by Dr. Olsen's commitment to comfort, dignity, and the assurance that every decision made is in the best interest of your pet.
