Peaceful Crossings In-Home Pet Euthanasia

Memorial service for a compassionate dog sitting on a beach watching a sunset over the ocean before the rainbow bridge.

About Peaceful Crossings In-Home Pet Euthanasia

Peaceful Crossings In-Home Pet Euthanasia was founded in early 2023 by Dr. Samantha Sellers, a veterinarian who earned her doctorate from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. After five years as a small animal general practitioner, Dr. Sellers recognized the need for dedicated in-home end-of-life care in the Southwest Missouri community and launched Peaceful Crossings to fill that gap. She completed expert training in in-home euthanasia through the Companion Animal Euthanasia Training Academy (CAETA) in 2022, ensuring that every appointment is handled with the highest standard of professional and compassionate care. The service operates under Sellers Veterinary Relief Services, LLC.

Peaceful Crossings serves families in Springfield, Missouri and the surrounding Southwest Missouri area. Dr. Sellers believes that pets deserve to pass peacefully in the familiar surroundings they know best — whether that is a living room, backyard, or a favorite park — surrounded by the family members who love them. The service includes a free quality-of-life telehealth consultation for families who are uncertain about timing, and the team coordinates all aftercare logistics including transportation to the crematory or cemetery, so families can focus on being present.

What to Expect

When Dr. Sellers arrives at your home, she will take time to talk with you about your pet, review paperwork, and answer any remaining questions — giving your pet time to relax in her presence before the procedure begins. She first administers an anesthesia injection under the skin, which takes 5–15 minutes to take effect, allowing families time to share stories and say their goodbyes. When your pet is ready, Dr. Sellers administers the euthanasia solution through an intravenous catheter and confirms a peaceful passing. Families may choose to be present for all, part, or none of the procedure based on their own comfort. Payment is accepted via all major credit/debit cards, Affirm financing, or cash, with a 3% card processing fee. After-hours appointments are available for an additional fee based on availability.
