That firsthand understanding of the gap in local services motivated her to establish Silver Wings as a dedicated option for families who previously had no convenient nearby alternative.

Silver Wings is distinguished by its use of aquamation — also known as alkaline hydrolysis — rather than traditional flame cremation. Aquamation uses water and an alkaline solution to return the body to its natural elements, a process that is considered gentler and more environmentally friendly than fire-based cremation. It also yields 20 to 30 percent more cremated remains than flame cremation, giving families more ash to work with for memorials or scattering. The facility can perform aquamation on domesticated animals up to 500 pounds, and the process takes approximately five business days to complete.
