About Stone Family Cremation Services & Pet Passages

Stone Family Cremation Services & Pet Passages opened in Southbury, Connecticut in May 2017 as part of the Munson Lovetere family of companies. The pet cremation side of the operation — operating as Pet Passages of Southbury — is a franchise of Pet Passages, a national network founded by third-generation licensed funeral director Mike Harris, who saw a need for the same level of dignified, professional care for pets that his funeral homes provided for people. The Southbury location is independently owned and operated by Lissa Lovetere-Stone and Mark Stone, both of whom are deeply invested in the local community as pet owners themselves.

The facility at 125 Bullet Hill Road North was intentionally designed with pet and human cremation in separate halves of the same building — a deliberate choice to provide both services under one roof while keeping each side distinct and respectful. Pet Passages of Southbury works with individual pet owners as well as local veterinarians, receiving inquiries from families seeking transparent, compassionate care for a wide range of species. The staff uses advanced pet identification and tracking procedures throughout the cremation process to ensure families have full confidence in the chain of custody.
